AI Art Workshop for Zajadacz

How can tools like Midjourney or DALL·E be used practically and creatively – even if you’ve had no previous contact with AI? Together with the Hamburg-based company vonMateo, I designed a workshop for employees of the German mid-sized company Zajadacz. The central focus was the question: What can AI-based image generation achieve – and what opportunities or challenges arise from it? After a short introduction with an interactive quiz and some basics on the topic of generative AI, things quickly became hands-on. The participants learned how so-called prompts work and immediately tried out generating their own images using simple text inputs. What was special: Many of the participants had no prior experience with AI applications – so the workshop served as a first, low-threshold access point to a complex topic. Over the course of the day, a wide variety of images were created, which were printed out at the end and taken home as small Polaroids. Some of these works will be exhibited in the company in the future – an idea that emerged during the workshop.

Perspective: 2025+
“The participants had no prior experience and were initially skeptical, but by the end, all they wanted was to create more images. To me, that shows the workshop was a complete success.”
Matti Kaiser, Co Founder von vonMateo

The workshop showed that an open, playful approach to AI can not only break down barriers but also reveal new creative potential. Especially for companies with little prior exposure to these technologies, this can be an important first step.
